NLシリーズ！ジョー・サンプルとレイラ・ハザウェイ/Oakland 2009 (1CDR)

クルセーダーズの中心人物ジョー・サンプルとダニー・ハザウェイの娘レイラ・ハザウェイがタッグを組んだ！99年にアルバムThe Songs Lives Onでコラボレーションしていますが、09年にライブを共に行っていました。前半8曲はインストで、ジャジーな世界を演出。そしてレイラが登場、クルセーダーズと言えばランディ・クロフォードと思う方も多いと思いますが、レイラが彼女と同等、否それを超えるほどのソウルフルなボーカルを披露、Street Life等を歌います。先のアルバムでもIt's A Sin To Tell A LieやOne Day I'll Fly Away等の名曲をランディと競うかのようにレイラが歌っていますが、ライブでこそレイラの実力がわかると言うものです。プリンスも愛した、ソウルの至宝レイラ・ハザウェイ。14年に残念ながらジョー・サンプルは他界してしまいましたが、彼もまたレイラを讃えた一人でした。
