プリンスの名レーベルThunderball亡き後、その関係者がアウトテイクを中心としたレーベルLiberationを作りファン・リリースしていました。そのアウトテイクはThe Work Enhanced Editionとなってリリースされています。

実はLiberationレーベルはアウトテイクの他にもライブやリハーサル音源をリリースしていたのです。このタイトルは98年のジャム・オブ・ザ・イヤー・ツアーの最終日の一つ前、98年1月13日のタンパ公演で、冒頭にプリンスが叫ぶ声にノイズがありますが、それ以外はほぼ完ぺきな最上級のDATオーディエンス録音で収録しています。大歓声なのですが、それを押し込めることで臨場感にし、プリンスのボーカルとバッキングをグーンと前に出してとても楽しめるサウンドになっています。Liberationのオリジナル音源です。レア演奏として、美しいDreamin' About Uをバックにマーヴァ・キングがフリートウッド・マックのBleed To Love Herも歌っています。

そしてボーナスに97年8月15日のマイアミ公演、ツアー初期のやはりLiberationのオリジナル音源で高音質収録。タンパ公演とは異なる展開、演奏曲と、ツアー初期とラスト辺りを比較して楽しむことが出来る仕組みです。このツアーの良さを知るに最適なタイトル、嬉しい再発と言えるでしょう。
