NLシリーズ　プリンスの曲演奏！メイビス・ステイプルス / Hot Brass (2CDR)

プリンスがプロデュースしたメイビス・ステイプルスのアルバムThe Voiceは93年8月24日にリリースされていますが、そのツアーから95年2月5日のパリのHot Brassというクラブでのギグを大変素晴らしい音圧と臨場感で迫る超上級オーディエンス録音で収録。まずバックバンドThe Staple Swingersがファンキーなインストと歌を披露、そしてメイビスが登場、The VoiceからYou Will Be Moved、プリンスのアウトテイクGod Is Aliveを少し歌いながらプリンスの話もし、そしてやはりThe Voiceに収録のBlood Is Thicker That Time、The Undertakerを披露、これらはプリンスが当然絡んでいる楽曲です。そしてRespect Yourselfのロング演奏やプリンスもカバーするI'll Take You Thereのステイプル・シンガーズ時代の曲、オーティス・レディングのDock Of The Bay、プリンスも良く演奏していたWhen The Saints Go Marchin' Inも奇妙な一致です。そして最後にアルバム・タイトル曲を披露、ズバリ名演です。
