プリンスのTV放送のコンピレーションで最も充実しているのは、恐らくNew Purple Groovezレーベルよりリリースされていた6枚のDVD、TV Appearancesシリーズではないでしょうか。充実したメニュー画面、リマスタリングをしある程度均一させた画像クオリティ、音質。一部映像収録の進行の順番がおかしい所、データ間違いはありますが（American Bandstandは80年1月26日は放送日で、79年12月16日に収録が行われ、結果タイトルも1980ではなく、TV Appearances 1979-2006となっています）、ほぼ整合性のある形で大変完成度の高いものとなっていました。今回それらをしっかりリッピングしメニュー画面も同様に反映させた形で6DVDRに収めての再発です。晩年までのTV映像、そして90年の東京ドーム等ツアーのライブ映像、また99年のヨーロッパでのテレビ出演の一部が収録していないものの、ここまでしっかりとほぼ完ぺきなデータと共に収められているのは驚異です。とりあえずまずプリンスの映像はここから、そして更に研究する上にも必要なファン必携の映像集です。
