プリンス/TV Appearances Vol.3-5 Special Set(1DVDR X 3)

数多くのTV放送映像があるプリンス。それを体系的にではありませんが、現存する全てを徹底的に詰め込んで収録していく、TV Appearancesシリーズが登場！

最初のリリースはVol.1ならぬ、Vol.0からVol.2まで。

今回はVol.3からVol.5まで計3つをお求めやすいセット価格でご提供します。

Vol.3は、96年のケイオス・アンド・ディスオーダーからのライブ演奏、その時期のツアーでは披露されていないDinner With Deloresのパフォから、トゥナイト・ショウでの路上ライブ。そしてマイテとのすばらしいダンスのVH-1 Fashion & Music Awards、また80年のアメリカン・バンドスタンド、この二つはTV Appearance 2にも収録していましたが、前者が別の放送バージョン、後者は編集されたPV風のものです。更に96年のエマンシペーションのアルバム・リリース時期のペイズリーパークでのライブとOprahのインタビューとパフォ。

Vol.4は、96年のエマンシペーション時期の映像を中心に収録。この頃ならでは演奏曲が多く、Rosie O'Donnell ShowSomebody's Somebodyの美メロにやられます。ベースにロンダ・スミス、ギターにキャット・ダイソンの女性メンバーも艶やかです。そして名曲Holy Riverのパフォ！もう2度と演奏してくれないだろう素晴らしき2曲です。Chris Rock Showのバンドが大騒ぎのダンスFace Downは最後皆がぶっ倒れます。そして皆がそのファンキーさに卒倒したNAACP Image AwardsのEmancipation。最後に初期のテレビ放送映像も収録。これも大変貴重です。

Vol.5は、New Power GenerationのNew Power Soul、そしてラリー・グラハム、チャカ・カーンのアルバムをプリンスがプロデュースした時期のテレビ映像です。よってVibeでのプリンスの先輩でありファンク、R&Bの偉人二人とライブをしている貴重なものがあります。更に宗教曲The Christの荘厳なロック、Come Onのファンキーな演奏、そして超初期のゲイル・チャップマンがいるThe Midnight Specialの映像もTCRコードが入ってしまっていますが、マスターテープからのものでとても貴重です。そして最後マイクを倒して去っていくParty Upのパフォも鳥肌もののかっこよさ。
